The number of Coronavirus cases in the United States are above 300

There has been an increase in the number of Coronavirus cases to at least 333, and the number of states, 19, reporting cases of the Coronavirus. Washington and California have the most Coronavirus cases in the United States and were also two of the earlier six states that reported cases of the Coronavirus.

There has also been an increase in the number of deaths with a majority of the deaths, 14, being in the state of Washington, 2 deaths in Florida, and 1 death in California.

Along with the increase in the number of cases and deaths, there is evidence of an increase in community spread, with the first being in California.

Community spread of a virus occurs whenever an unknown source spreads the virus. Specifically, an unknown source is an untraceable source that has transmitted the virus. For instance, if an individual is living with someone who has the virus and the infected individual transmits the virus to the individual living in his or her home, then the doctors will be able to identify the source who transmitted the virus to the infected person. However, if someone is out and about and contracts the virus, then the doctors won’t be able to identify the source who transmitted the virus to the infected person.

Due to the increase in the number of cases and deaths related to the Coronavirus, there has been an increase in the concern of what and or who is the source transmitting the virus to individuals within the community.

Before the first case of community spread in California, the CDC was able to narrow down the source of transmission as individuals who had travelled to countries where there is a large number of Coronavirus cases. But when community spread was added into the equation, the source of transmission was not as clear. This means that it becomes more difficult to contain the virus and to obtain an antiviral vaccine. As a result, the number of cases and deaths will more than likely continue to increase.

It’s for that reason that Congress passed an $8.3 billion spending bill that will assist the healthcare community in providing treatment to the public and finding a vaccine to fight the virus. President Donald Trump has signed the bill into law.

An outbreak of the Coronavirus began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, where a majority of the 3,000 plus deaths worldwide resulted from the virus that is in six (Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, North America, and South America) continents. All of the six continents have at least one death with the most being on the Asian continent due to the number of deaths in China.

The United States didn’t get its first reported case of the Coronavirus until January of this year. And it wasn’t until the last week of February 2020 that the first death was reported in the United States.
